Red Bank Getting New Townhouses On Lullwater Road

Tuesday, September 18, 2018 - by Gail Perry

Rezoning property on Lullwater Road was given unanimous approval on second and final reading by the Red Bank Commission Tuesday night.

Three lots, 621, 637 and a lot with no address are each 100 feet wide. With the zoning changing from R-1 Residential and R-1A Residential, to R-TZ Townhouse Zero Lot Line, each of the properties can be divided into 50-foot lots where townhomes will be built.

Plans are for the houses to be two-story, 1,600-square-feet homes with three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage.

An ordinance that regulates the number of accessory buildings on any property in Red Bank was also given final approval. Lots that are a half acre can have one accessory building and lots that are over a half acre, are allowed to have two.  The term “accessory buildings” are structures on property other than the primary house and a garage. This includes structures such as gazebos and greenhouses. Buildings that are already in existence will be grandfathered in.

Authorization was given for the purchase of self-contained breathing apparatus in the amount of $194,102 for the fire department. Fire Chief Mark Mathews told the commissioners that this was a budgeted item and the bid from Municipal Emergency Services was the bid that met all of the specifications.
